The Historic Naches Pass Wagon Trail is one of the most poplar trails in the Northwest. Some years we run this trail a few times during the time the west side is open. We really like to run this trail in the fall after the dust is gone and we do it in the opposite direction of the settlers for more of a challenge climbing the west end.

Report & photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

Sunday August 19th, 2012 I took the family for a backroads run up to Little Bald Mountain to get out of the valley heat.

We headed east on SR-410. In Nile Valley we took FS1600 and headed up to Little Bald Mountain.

At Little Bald Mountain we took in the views. It was kind of hazy but was able to see Mount Rainier.

We signed in at the shelter ...

Naches, Washington - At the October 2011 Naches Ranger District TWIG Meeting, District Trails and Wilderness Coordinator Jeff Leisy told the group how much it cost to keep trails up to standards which the District does have the funding. Jeff Leisy says from a business point of view they need to close some of the trails. Ranger Irene Davidson agreed with Leisy. Davidson wanted ...
  5. Trail users getting shafted by Ranger

My Reply on the "Naches Ranger District trail users at odds with district over possible closures" article:

At a TWIG Meeting last Spring, Naches District Ranger Irene Davidson told the group, "This meeting is not for discussion, it's for your information".

On October 4th, 2011 Davidson was kinder than she had been in the past to the volunteers since a Representative for Congressman Doc Hastings was there. Davidson talked about TWIG as a group would have to ...

Wagons East! The Eastern Washington Adventures Naches Pass Trail 4x4 Run
Report by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

This year we brought back the annual "Wagons East" run on the Historic Naches Pass Wagon Trail for Eastern Washington Adventures members. Two years before after this run we fell into some problems. Camping that night it was freezing cold. Some tent campers left in the middle of the night because of how cold it was. The water pipes frozen in my camper. ...

On June 18th, 2011 we met up at Eastern Washington Adventures in Selah Washington for the Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch Association's Father's Day Run. The plan was to go on some backroads around the Wenas Area and to check out the views from Clemen Mountain. We convoyed to the end of North Wenas Road and aired down. Next we headed up Maloy Road to find a locked gate across the Green Dot Road. Well that killed the original
