Hey Ceg, just wondering if the ZJ can do this trip with studded snow tires. Don't want to try it if I would be in the way. If not may be up for a ride a long if some one don't mind.

Spring Fever 4x4 Run Colockum

Colockum 4x4 Snow Run - Feb 26 2011. Photo by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures
This is an Eastern Washington Adventures run open to Street licensed 4x4 Rigs, "No buggies".
You must follow EWA rules and the laws of the land to run with us.
There may be some muddy areas. You must try to not spin your tires in muddy areas. Mudding is illegal in this area.
A Discover Pass is required.
This run calls for street legal 4x4 rigs (of all sizes) that have off road type tires.
Most likely there will be snow and mud on Colockum Road and the Green Dot Roads.
We plan to leave for the trail at 10 AM from
4WheelingPlus.com
319 North Main Street, Kittitas, WA 98934 · Get Directions
From the meeting point in Kittitas there is about 8.5 miles of pavement to run. We are not doing high speeds getting there and we will go the speed of the slowest trailer queen.
Paved Route 4WheelingPlus.com to the Colockum Sign
Please post if you are going so we know to notify you if plans change.
Below is the list of who is going so far.
CB Ch #7.
Thanks, Ceg

No honey...I brought it back in one piece. Where did all that sand come from?
I would advise not to take a stock height ZJ on this run. We will be looking for deeper snow. I am not for sure if there will be any or not though. It could warm up and melt a lot off or it could dump a lot more snow. Kind of iffy time of the year and the season so far has been far from normal. You are welcome to ride with me.

I am hoping to make this run.
Need to get the hydraulics for my clutch rebuilt, and figure out why my rear air locker is leaking first, though.
If anyone from the Wenatchee valley is planning on going, give my a heads up, so we can convoy.
ill have a tow rig how far are the trails from 4wheelingplus my toyota only has 70 horses and will only do 50 on flat ground, so back to the trailer would like to keep the toyota off the road as much as possible.
About 8.5 miles of pavement. We are not doing high speeds getting there.

The other option is to park farther up. Just not as safe.

What kind of snow conditions are you guys expecting? We would like to come up and wheel, but it has to be worth the fuel. 150 miles one way. Also if we were to make the trek, is there some place we can park the pickup/camper and trailer for the night?

As of right now the snow should be deep up there. I do not know of a place in that area to camp this time of year. You are welcome to camp at my place but it is 45 to and hour trip from Kittitas to my place in Selah. I think the Yakima Canyon had some pay site open to camp. If you are coming up the Columbia River there are some camping areas. Beverly Dunes is fun but requires a Discover Pass.
